How can YOU help & get involved w/ the Navajo & Hopi water rights struggle?

How can YOU help & get involved w/ the Navajo & Hopi water rights struggle? There is a lot of information out there about the Navajo & Hopi Lower Colorado River Water Rights Settlement, and it's a challenge sifting through all the information. Below are three steps to help & get involved.

1) Educate yourself, your family & your friends. Here is a link to S.2109, the settlement & summaries: http://bit.ly/I8g7pr.

2) For Navajos - e-mail/snail mail/fax/call your Council Delegate & President. Share your concerns with them. Their contact info can be found here: http://bit.ly/JpO2t3. Here is a postcard template for your use: http://bit.ly/I2LlP9. Have you Chapter &/or Agency pass a resolution requesting the Council to oppose S.2109 & HR4067. Here is a link to an Example Agency/Chapter Resolution Against S2109/HR4067: http://bit.ly/I8mCsI

3) For everyone - contact your Congressmen & Senators. Find your Representative(s) at: http://1.usa.gov/JDgp6J. Find your Senator(s) at: http://1.usa.gov/IAs43o. On Senate side, S.2109 has been referred to the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs. Contact these Committee members at: http://bit.ly/IneCQy.On the House side, HR 4067 is in the Subcommittee on Water & Power of the House Natural Resources Committee.
